there is a new Wheeler Dealer on tonight and Peter is very excited. it is the car show that we watch every night. but, to iChat,is the start of a new series and refurbishing of an old Fiat Spider...should be a blast!!!!!!!

Waking up at 10am, we ate a wonderful breakfast of banquettes and tea. We then went for a 40minuterun along the Porte. It was sunny , about20 degrees, with a soft breeze, and just wonderful for running.Lots of people were out walking and enjoying the beautiful day. Both of us really enjoyed our run and we then climbed the 30 steps back to our apartment. I tell you that vertical climb is the hardest part of any run. once back at our place,we sat on our gorgeous patio, enjoying this amazing view of the ocean and palm trees. After lunch, we walked down to the old village of Menton, and climbed many old stairs and alleyways. I have some amazing pictures to share soon. The cobbled streets are beautiful and many streets have stone mosaics. We visited a very ornate old church and some art galleries. We then arrived at the city center.Themarkets, carousels, and smells of Menton, greeted us. After purchasing some groceries, we found this lovely restaurant, Deux Anges. The menu was lovely and we ordered spaghetti, for Peter, and gnocchi for myself. We finished with fruit salad, for me, and real tiramisu for Peter .

Tonight, it was raining for the first time since our arrival, and we, again, climbed the 30 steps back to our place. The wheeler dealer show is now on....A demain!

  1. Bridget my dear, all you talk about is food food food. You would think that they don't feed you on da Rock.

I am green with envy with your wonderful descriptions of the food and beverage experience.

Please continue with your gastronomic tour and keep us posted.

  2. Great colour scheme! The food adventures sound marvellous. The last two nights I've been experimenting with spinach. Yesterday I made a spinach pesto fusilli. Today I added some mayonnaise, yogurt and pear to the left overs and had a wonderful pasta salad. I made a large spinach salad with grapes, pear and raspberries covered with vinaigrette composing of olive oil, balsamic and maple syrup. Not to worry I then ate a large steak to balance my diet!

  3. I hear that red meat and steak are bad for you. I also hear that red wine is good for you....hmmmm...so a perfect balance. Like Yin and Yang...There is a divine hand in all of this.
