The night after consuming a half bottle of Chablis and a shot of local Menton lemoncello can be very rough. My new resolution is 1 glass of vino per day. Today, we slept in again!!! We woke at 1:40 pm. Tomorrow, the alarm will be on!!! We headed down to the casino, or grocery store, and bought a ton of groceries, lovely veggies, olive oil, wine in the drink section, and fresh baguettes and croissants. Andrew, I thought of you when I saw those beautiful light croissants. We then headed home in our little Skoda Fabio.

Our Skoda is a little European diesel car. It turns on a dime and never cuts out. The roads in this very old city are very narrow and very steep. The whole city is built into a mountain . Drivers cruise down these 1 1/2 width roads like it was a raceway. Luckily, there are very wide sidewalks, so walking and jogging is a pleasure. We jogged along the harbor front yesterday in shorts and light t-shirts. Most people were wearing winter jackets , including Canada Goose jackets. Needless to say, we did get a few looks. Of course, it was 20 degrees.

Menton has 317 days of sunny weather each year. The lemon festival just finished and there are ripe lemons everywhere. Absolutely love this place.
